Sand Timers
Did you know, the first documented sand timer – or hourglass as it was known as back then – was used over 1400 years ago? Our tickit® Sand Timers aren’t quite so old and are probably more brightly coloured! But they use exactly the same principle of measuring the passage of time. The movement of sand flowing from one end to the other visually demonstrates time passing and is an easy way for children to begin to understand the wider concept of “time”.
